Clyde Andrew Parker

Clyde Andrew Parker, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on March 20, 1938, in Jamestown, Tennessee, Clyde lived a life defined by his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and heartfelt connections with those around him.

A man of deep loyalty and warmth, Clyde was well known for never having met a stranger. His hardworking nature and good-heartedness touched many lives, and those who knew him will always remember his gentle smile, mischievous humor, and the way he could light up a room with a well-timed joke. Clyde was also lovingly described as ornery—a jovial jokester who delighted in making others laugh.

One of Clyde’s proudest accomplishments was his family, around whom his life naturally revolved. He shared an extraordinary marriage of 68 years with his beloved wife, Frona Mae Parker (nee Wright), a partnership built on trust, mutual support, and enduring love. Together they raised two devoted daughters, Lois and Cherie Parker, guiding them with patience and unwavering encouragement.

Clyde delighted in the opportunity to support his daughters through their endeavors in 4H and showing horses, always their biggest advocate at every event. His commitment to family extended further as he cherished time spent with his granddaughter, Meagan, and his great-grandson, Carson, instilling in them the same values of kindness and loyalty that defined his own life.

In later years, Clyde and Frona could often be found enjoying the pleasures of trail riding and camping—activities that brought both peace and joy into their lives. Whether taking in the beauty of a wooded path or sharing stories around a campfire, these simple moments together became treasured memories.

Clyde also had a great fondness for the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals, following their seasons with eager anticipation and sharing the experience with those around him. Watching the games provided another source of shared joy for family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Frona Mae Parker; his loving daughters, Lois (Richard Jackson) Parker and Cherie (Rod McMillen) Parker; his cherished granddaughter, Meagan (Anthony Clark) Baxley; and his great-grandson, Carson. Clyde is also remembered fondly by his sisters, Melba Wilburn, Deloris Parker, and Virginia Parker.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doyal Baskel Parker, and his mother, Delta Ethel Parker (nee Potter); brothers, Frank Parker, Jerry Parker, Lecil Parker, Cletis Parker, James Parker, Clay Parker, and Cordell Parker; and his sister, Shirley Choate.

Clyde Andrew Parker’s legacy is one of loyalty, love, and laughter. He was gentle and kind, with a strong spirit and a heart open to all. He leaves behind a family and community forever grateful for his presence and the countless memories made along the way. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will carry his memory forward, honoring the good man he was each and every day.
