Clyde William Calhoun, 82 years of age of Florence, Kentucky passed away Monday at Cold Spring Transitional Care, with family by his side. Clyde was born on June 15, 1943 in Acorn, Kentucky to parents, Audrey and Elmer.

He was a loving husband of 57 years to his wife, Shirley, until her passing in 2022. Father of Tracy Klensch, Donald Calhoun (Mirna), Marcia Kennedy (David) and Stephen Calhoun. Grandpa to 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Brother of Jenny McClinton (Sherrill) and Debbie Fehrenbach (Mark). He was an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Audrey, stepfather Jack Wilson, stepmother Kathleen Calhoun and siblings Dale Wilson (Diane), Rick Wilson (Doris), Ricky Calhoun and Bobby Calhoun.

Clyde was honorably discharged from the Navy where he served as a Seabee for two years in Argentia, Newfoundland. Soon after returning home, he married Shirley. For much of his life, Clyde owned and operated his own siding and remodeling company. His customers in many cases, became life-long friends. He worked hard for many years. Even in "retirement" -- working part-time until well into his 70's.

Spending time with his sweet dog, Dolly was his favorite pastime. He also greatly enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole and cards, watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds. For many years, he cared faithfully for Shirley. Clyde was a member of Burlington Baptist Church.

Visitation is at Burlington Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by military honors (at the church). Burial is at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. Newcomer Cremations, Funeral, Receptions 4350 Dixie Hwy. Erlanger, Kentucky 41018 is handling the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or www.heart.org.

Dad always said he didn't want us to wear black at his funeral, but instead bright colors, or University of Kentucky Wildcats or Cincinnati Reds attire. If you're so inclined, please feel free to do the same.
