Charles Wayne Hughes

Charles Wayne Hughes (Chuck), 71 of Butler, KY passed away at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas, KY on June 13, 2026 with his children at his side.

Chuck was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 20, 1955. He spent much his childhood in Demossville, KY and worked most his life as a jack of all trades. Chuck enjoyed fishing, playing chess, and listening to music. He will be remembered as a man with charisma and a great sense of humor who connected easily with just about anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Denny Hughes, Carl Simpson, and Wanda Roark Simpson and his siblings Mary, Ralph, David, Sissy and Edward.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Krissy) Hughes, Marlene (Darren) Boyd, Christin Sorensen Ferro, Mary Sorensen Hughes, nine grandchildren and one great grand-child, siblings Carl Simpson Jr. and Loretta Cordray, nieces, Jenna Cordray and Adalynn Cordray, nephews, Skyler Bowen and Cayden Cordray and countless other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Elizabeth that cared for Chuck and his children with professionalism, empathy and compassion in his final days.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in his honor to the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center, 4890 Houston Road, Florence, KY 41042
