Listen to Obituary

Charles W. Osborne, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on October 22, 1949, in Covington, Kentucky.

Charles will be remembered as a man who loved people and found joy in the simple pleasures that brought others together. For many years, he had a booth at the Richwood Flea Market, where he became well known for selling NASCAR memorabilia. He enjoyed collecting and selling NASCAR items, and his booth became a familiar and welcoming place to many. His generous spirit was especially evident in the way he gave away Beanie Babies and Hot Wheels to children who visited, creating small moments of happiness that were not soon forgotten.

He had a deep love for fishing, antique markets, and yard sales, and he especially enjoyed casino and racetrack outings. Those who knew him will remember his enthusiasm at the casino and the racetrack, where he was known to encourage others to bet a little more in hopes of a bigger return. With his lively personality and sense of fun, he earned a reputation as a “bad influence” in the most affectionate sense, always bringing laughter and energy wherever he went.

Above all else, Charles was proud of his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and the joy he found in being surrounded by those he loved was one of the defining parts of his life. His family was his proudest accomplishment, and his love for them will remain a lasting part of his memory.

He is survived by his children, Shona Spence, Alana (Thomas) Gould, Melissa Henry (Jason Isbel), David (Chelsea Sheriff) Osborne, Kevin Osborne and Carrie (Michael) Dunaway; his grandchildren, Katelyn (Phillip), Matthew (Angela), Ashtan, Zach, PFC Dylan (Lexi), Chloe, Jacob, Kailee, Zoey, Kaidance, Olivia, Liliana, Nathan, Bentlee, Paisley, Paislee Ann, Blakely and Gracyn; by his great-grandchildren, Savannah, Jayden, Reagan, Colson, Jasmine, Abigail, Destiny, Mason, Leilani, and five bonus grandbabies; by his sisters, Charlotte Ferguson, Betty Kinard, and Theresa Milligan; and by his grand dogs, Skyler and Coco. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Milligan; his stepfather, MP Lawrence Milligan; his grandmother who was like a mother to him, Olive B. Wilson; his granddaughter, Lily Sky; his grand dog, Dixie Lou; his sisters, Sandy Johnson, Frances Whitehead, and Lynn Jansma; and his brothers, Bobby Schilling, Donnie Richardson, and Jimmy Milligan.
