Cathleen Marie Gilday, age 76, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Born on February 9, 1950, in Cincinnati to John P. and Marcella Corbett (née Knapp), Cathleen touched the lives of many throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Marcella Corbett, and her brother, John Corbett. Cathleen is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, David Gilday; her children, David J. (Amy) Gilday, Tracie (Jason) Corcoran, and Amanda (Michael) Belcher; and her cherished grandchildren Derek, Zachery, Courtney, Kayla, Austin, Noah, Gianna, Kaitlyn, and Sean. She is also remembered fondly by many other family members and friends.
Cathleen dedicated over 25 years of service to the marketing department at McAlpins/Dillards. She had a passion for gardening, baking cookies for her family, and cooking. Cathleen especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren and joyfully hosted all the major holidays, with Christmas being her favorite for its decorations and togetherness. A lover of animals, the beach, and family vacations, she was deeply family-oriented and had a kind heart. Cathleen’s compassion and warmth were evident as she always ensured those around her felt valued and included, never speaking a harsh word about anyone.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4026 River Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45204, followed by burial at New St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.
