Carolyn Nichols, age 60, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025. Born on July 25, 1964, she was the daughter of Samuel F. and Rachel P. Jones.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Christopher M. Nichols, cherished father, Samuel F. Jones, Jr., her beloved mother, Rachel P. Jones, her son, Jonte L. Nichols, as well as her sisters Christine Edmonson and Gloria Dockery and brother Samuel Jones III. She is also preceded by honorary sisters Karen Clark and Joinee Clark.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters Takiyah M. (George) Owens and Jamyla (Antonio) Jeffries, and her son Emmanuel (Shay) Nichols. She is remembered fondly by her siblings Jennifer (Gary) Mapp, Marsha (Raymond) Prophett, Sandra (Michael 🕊️) Jones, and Ricardo (Malina) Jones, Elizabeth Bridgett, Elaine Jones, Margaret Coleman, and Linda Jones along with honorary siblings Estherlita “Marie” Williams and the entire Williams family, as well as honorary sisters Donnette Green (affectionately known as Wende) and DeeDee Rogers, honorary niece, LaMyla Williams. In addition, she leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
A woman of varied interests, Carolyn was an active and amazing mother and grandmother. She loved helping people her career choice of STNA, Childcare Director and most recently Life Insurance Agent is evidence that she wanted nothing but the best for people who crossed her path. In her free time delighted in playing bingo, board games, and enjoying her favorite TV show "Bring It" each morning. She found peace in her daily Bible readings and had a great passion for books. Carolyn cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, capturing their moments through playing at the park, swimming, arts and crafts, and appreciated the art of crocheting. She was known for her keen sense of style, frequently coordinating her outfits and collecting elephant and angel figurines. Carolyn had a sweet tooth, relishing snacks throughout the day, and enjoyed her morning cup of coffee. Above all, her greatest love was for her family, always putting others first and seeking ways to lend a helping hand.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 14, 2025, at 2 pm located at the Cincinnati Public Library, 800 Vine Street Cincinnati, OH 45202 Room 3 South Tower room.
