Carolyn S. McCord, age 86, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born on June 30, 1939, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William Earl Sullivan and Ruth Sullivan (née Ligon).
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ruth; her father, William Earl; and her cherished daughter, Nikki Ann McCord. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Donald P. McCord; her son, W. Matthew McCord and his wife Michele; her grandsons, Brady N. McCord and Liam C. McCord; her brother, Earl Glenn Sullivan; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Throughout her life, Carolyn found joy in reading, bowling, and tending to her flower garden with love. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, and had cherished memories of visiting Branson, Missouri with Donald, where she delighted in shopping and attending shows. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Florence Christian Church. Carolyn took great pleasure in attending her grandsons' concerts, sporting events, and plays. She always valued the time spent with her family, especially during the holidays.
In loving memory of Carolyn, contributions may be made to Rosedale Green or the Ronald McDonald House at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with visitation from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
