Acey Horton, age 91, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 14, 1934, Acey was the beloved son of AC and Cora Horton (née Norman).
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Versie L. Guster, Louvenia Huston, Lacey Horton, Ada M. Brown, Van E. Horton, James Horton, Gracie Horton, and Mike Horton. Acey is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Julia Horton (née Brown); daughters Gloria (Anthony) White, Donna Horton, Glenda (Kenneth Levan) Byrd, and Juanita Horton; brothers Eugene and Leon Horton; sisters Carolyn Horton and Angenette Williams; grandchildren, Anthony E. (Teneicesia) White, II, Louis (Stacey) White, Christopher (Rachel) White, Danielle White, Johnathann Levan (Grace) Byrd, Catalleya Storm, Miyah Faith (Marcus) Byrd, Deaunna N. Byrd, Kenneth David Byrd, Amanda Rae Baker; Great-Grandchildren, Evelynn Marie Baker, Eliana Byrd, Kellan Byrd, Serenity Byrd, Kenji Byrd, Akeela White, Amari White, Teddy White, Jordan White, Aiden C. Hicks, Avery P. Hicks, Jayala White, Sydney N. Hicks, Andrew M. Hicks, Sevin White; along with a cherished extended family.
In his early years, Acey enjoyed fishing, tinkering and fixing things in the garage, playing piano, riding his motorcycle, and an avid gardener. Later in life, he delighted in playing dominoes and engaging in word search activities as long as he could. Above all, Acey treasured spending time with his family and worked tirelessly to provide for them, ensuring they never faced hardship. In adulthood his faith became a cornerstone of his life and he dedicated himself to Christ.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – West Side Chapel, located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Burial will follow, with a procession to the cemetery accompanied by an escort.
Family, friends, and all who knew Acey are invited to share memories and leave messages of condolence. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
