If you feel so inclined, please join his Daughter, Alexis Bertsch, in her letter writing campaign titled, “Thank your Local Trucker”.

While it’s a simple but often overlooked fact, truck drivers don’t get to be at home as often as most of us. Whether they’re scheduled to leave at the crack of dawn before most of the country wakes up and arrive home well after everyone has gone to sleep or they’re scheduled to be on the road for weeks at a time, it’s not your typical 9-5 job. That kind of schedule comes with great sacrifices. Sacrifices that many of us may not have realized. Sacrifices to their physical and mental well-being and relationships with family and friends.

Please join in on “Thanking your Local Truckers” in the everyday sacrifices they make to keep our country moving. You can send your letters of “thanks”, “encouragement”, or “positivity” to ThankYourLocalTrucker@gmail.com and the letters will be printed and put into the hands of your “local” trucker.

You can also send a message with your letter to our Instagram @ThankYourLocalTrucker or our Twitter @ThnkYourTrucker to put into the hands of your “local” trucker.

If you feel comfortable, please include your first name, age, and state to make your letter more personable. Any words of thanks, encouragement or positivity are appreciated. Most of us cannot understand the great tolls driving day in and day out, mile after mile, state after state can have on one’s well-being and we can all take a second to “Thank Your Local Trucker” and acknowledge that toll and those sacrifices.
