David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jennifer Ledonne Bodkin; children, Blake (Mandi) Bodkin, Adam Bodkin, Lauren (John) Hancock, Grant Bodkin, and Chase (Lauren Barlag) Bodkin; grandchildren, Maclaine, Boden, Sutton, and Chandler Hancock, Bentley, Anderson David and Duke Bodkin, Kaitlyn Easterling, Madeline and Connor Jackson, Raven and Osah Schewe; siblings, Beth (John) Nicholas, Stephen (Jill) Bodkin, Mark (Suzanne) Bodkin; and a host of other family members and friends.
David cherished his family above all else, he most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful teacher for many years, he truly loved educating children. David was also a United States Army Veteran. He had many hobbies including going to the horse races, traveling and going on road trips, hiking, cooking and trivia. Basketball was his favorite sport, he was a coach for many years and was a fan of UK.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12:30 pm until the Memorial Mass at 2:00 pm at St. Boniface and James Church in Ludlow, Kentucky.
