James Hicks, Jr., age 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 19, 1933 to James Sr. and Flossie Mae Hicks (nee Williams).

James was preceded in death by his parents, his daughters, Carol Hicks and Lenora Jean Hicks, and his siblings, Alice Hicks, Clarence Hicks and Ida Williams.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Helen Hicks (nee Dowlen ), his children, Crystal Johnson, Dora (Michael Black) Hicks, Cora Hicks, Greg Hicks, Lenora Jean Hicks, Ricky Hicks, Thomas Hicks, Ronnie Hicks and, Rosanne (Wayne Pullins) Hicks, and his siblings, Joanne Johnson, Donald Hicks, John Hicks, Pauline Tealwer. James has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio (45211) from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM. At that time we will depart for Graveside Services with Military Honors at Spring Grove Cemetery.
