Martha M. “Marty” Bezold (nee Knochelmann), beloved and devoted wife of Eugene A “Gene” Bezold for 66 years, loving mother of Sue (Russ) Kerdolff, Mark (Laura) Bezold, Lynda (Mike) Sexton, Tony (Kate) Bezold and Mary (Rusty) Erpenbeck.

She is the grandmother of Tim (Marsha) Kerdolff, Brian (Karyn) Kerdolff, Amy Kerdolff, Erin (Andrew) Roland, Sarah (Matt) Rice, Zach (Katie) Bezold, Carrie (Andrew Pelphrey) Sexton, Nick (Kat Fuller) Sexton, Nathan (Tess Herzog) Sexton, Molly Sexton, Jake Humphrey, Bryce Bezold, Robert Erpenbeck and Tory (Jordin) Gough. She has 9 great grandchildren; Noah, Lena, Ava, Knox, Holden, Ford, Anderson, James and John.

Martha is the sister of Dave (Ginny) Knochelmann, Edwin (Lois) Knochelmann, Roseann (late Paul) Lankisch, the late Carl (late Rose) Knochelmann, the late John (Pat) Knochelmann, the late Joan (late Harry) Means, the late Dick (late Louise) Knochelmann and the late Sr Lea Marie Knochelmann SND. Martha has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Martha died, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family.

Marty was a 55-year member of St. Agnes Church, a member of the Fort Wright Hilltoppers and worked for 23 years as a librarian and then secretary at Bishop Howard/Holy Family school. In her younger years, Marty enjoyed playing cards, traveling with friends on annual trips to Gatlinburg, Fort Myers and even to Europe a couple of times and enjoyed time with Fort Henry neighbors.

Martha’s health began declining about a decade ago and sometime thereafter was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. This disease caused her to be confined to a wheel chair for the past 8 years and otherwise limit her activities. She has been assisted by Hospice home health care since July of 2021.

Visitation will be Monday, October 31, 2022, at St Agnes Church, Ft Wright, Kentucky from 9:30 AM until the funeral mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery, Ft Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY (41017) or Redwood School, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft Mitchell, KY (41017).
