James “Jim” Hammond, age 92, of Erlanger, Kentucky passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 26, 1929 to Harvey Hammond and Marie Hammond (nee Popp).

Jim proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years. Jim met the love of his life Carolyn while serving in the Navy, they were both active in the military at the time and married on a Naval base. Jim and Carol traveled to many Navy conventions over the years. He has been an active member of American Legion Post 20, which he was a past commander. He was also actively involved with the Ralph Fulton VFW Post 6423 and the Fleet Reserve Association.

He enjoyed all sports, going bowling, playing pool, darts, horseshoes, and cards. He loved to dance and have a good time! Jim was a very involved dad and loving grandpa. He was an overall wonderful man that will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn A. Hammond, his parents and siblings. Jim is survived by his daughter, Gina M. (Travis) Holtkamp, Son, Dennis J. (Michelle) Hammond; grandchildren, Ian J. Stephenson and Taylor D. Stephenson; great-grandchildren, Ashton K. Stephenson and Valor J. Stephenson; and a host of other family members and friends.

A Sharing of Memories will be 7:30 pm Monday, September 19, 2022 with a visitation from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. Military honors and inurnment will take place at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery, North in Williamstown, Kentucky on Wednesday, September 21st at 2:00 pm.
