Phyllis A. Wyatt
1932 - 2022

Phyllis Ann (Hapner) Wyatt, affectionately known by many as “Memaw”, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and many other loved ones in her last days and hours at The Willows at Citation in Lexington, Kentucky.

Phyllis was born on April 14, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Treva Hapner. She married Ezra (“Pap”) Wyatt on June 1, 1950 at the age of 18, and they enjoyed 72 years together. Memaw was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and role model for many. She was known for her quiet smile, twinkling eyes, loving kisses, sweet giggle, kind and humble spirit, and deep faith in God. Her faith in God guided her life and love until the end. Many will remember Memaw’s chicken and dumplings, iced tea, and lemon meringue pies, getting gum out of her purse or candy out of the candy jar, sitting down to work a puzzle with her, or finding her reading her Bible or a library book in her easy chair. Memaw had a way of comforting everyone in her life with her genuine care and gentle spirit.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Treva Hapner, step-mother, Thelma (Hewitt) Hapner, brother, Lowell Hapner, and great-grandchildren, Zac Garland and Adeline Kirby. She is survived by her husband, Ezra (“Pap”) Wyatt, three children: Wanda (Stephen) Trebolo, Randall (Esther) Wyatt, and Paul (Karen) Wyatt, seven grandchildren: Adam (Ann) Trebolo, Rachel (Andrew) Taylor, Michelle (JB) Oviatt, Jennifer (Brian) Wargo, Andrew (Sheila) Wyatt, Rebekah (Joel) Crawford, and Lisa (Abraham) Kirby, seven great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
