Mr. Ernest Lee Veasley, Sr. passed away on March 10, 2020. He was born August 31, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Withrow High School and New York University. He joined the United States Army in 1969.

After being honorably discharged, he went to work on the famous Delta Queen steamboat, where he was afforded the opportunity to travel all over the country. During the tenure on the Delta Queen he was able to fulfill his passion for meeting and interacting with people from various origins and backgrounds.

Ernest had a big heart and never met a stranger. He would have given you the shirt off his back. He was a very loving, caring and kind person.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillie M. Veasley; brothers, Edward Veasley and Gunney Veasley; sisters, Ruby M. Beavers and Bobbie Minor. He leaves to cherish his memory to his three sons, Aaron S. Veasley, Ernest Veasley, Jr. and Trevor Veasley; and daughter, Janell Nimbley. His four grandchildren, Journee, Justice, Esiyah and Taylon. His memory will also be cherished by sister, Debbie Gibson (Willie) and brother, Kenneth Veasley (Avis). Mr. Veasley also leaves his memory to a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and friends.
