Joyce Elizabeth Miller Moxley was born on October 21, 1928, to her parents the late, James & Ogretta Miller. She attended public schools in both Addyston and Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked different jobs throughout her life, but her greatest joy was working at Doctor’s Hospital in the orthopedic department, in Massillon, Ohio, caring for the sick and shut-in. She later became a homemaker for many years. She loved her family. Joyce made her transition quietly in her sleep on March 7, 2020 at Birchwood/Dover Nursing Care in West Chester, Ohio.

She leaves to cherish her memories her five children, Semmie J. Flory of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rhonda E. Pates-Smiley of Warren, OH, James G. Wilkins of Houston, TX, Turranna Rice of Massillon, OH, and Dominique Miller of Hamilton, OH; twelve grandchildren, Aletia Kelly of Colorado Springs, CO, Vincent Kelly of Myrtle Beach, SC, Del Renee Leotaud of Tampa, FL, Malvin Powell of Marietta, OH, Raphael Clark of Canton, OH, Jeanetta E. Crusoe of Euclid, OH, John K. Wilkins of Cincinnati, OH, Justin M. Pates of Cincinnati, OH, Jernelle Wilkins of Katy, TX, Marquez Miller of Canton, OH, Brooklyn Tingle of Hamilton, OH, Tyrone Rice of Monroe, OH; a devoted, loving caretaker, and granddaughter, Turranna Rice Kilgore of Hamilton, OH; adopted sister, Ginger Johnson Gaines of Cincinnati, OH; a host of stepchildren; sister-in-law, Florence Miller O’Neil of Atlanta, GA; niece, Ellen Miller (Kenneth) Mapp of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Artie (Esther) Miller of Greenville, NC; A host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a son-like Gregory Hinkerton of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Moxley; her parents; son, Stephen Wilkins; daughter, Dianna Rice; brother, James Sonny Miller, Sr.; step-father, Earl Johnson; a host of step-children and many other dear relatives.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Southwest for the special care they gave during her stay at Birchwood/Dover Nursing Care.
