Draga Asher
1952 - 2020

Draga Asher was born March 13, 1952 in Bitola, Macedonia to proud parents, Peco and Trajanka Lozanovski. Peco, Tranjanka, Draga and her two sisters, Luba and Ruza shared a beautiful home in their hometown, Selo Ramna. Draga loved her childhood in Macedonia. She would often share stories of their beautiful house, land and going to the market with her family. One of her favorite memories was going with her sisters to pick blackberries.
On August 8, 1962, at the young age of 17, Draga and her entire family left Yugoslavia. The family settled down in the North side of Cincinnati, Oh. There Draga attended Aiken High School.

In early 1972, Draga was hired on at Dr. Scholl’s Shoe Company by a handsome man, Roger L. Asher. They were immediately smitten. Draga soon left her new job and continued to fall head over heels for her new love.
On June 2, 1973, Roger and Draga were married in front of family and friends. It was a beautiful celebration. The couple soon became a trio on December 22, 1973 when they welcomed their first child Roger David into their world. The family grew by one more on October 12, 1979, when Robert Peter joined the family.

Draga was born to be a mother. She loved every second of it. There is nothing she wouldn’t do to make her boys happy. The young family resided at Four Seasons in Erlanger, KY where Draga and her son’s would spend sunny days at the pool. In 1983 the family purchased a home on Rowin Dr. So many great memories were made in that house. Most people who visited the home remember Draga cooking at any hour. Whatever you wanted, whatever the hour she would offer to make you something to eat. When the state of Kentucky decided to build Houston Rd. the family’s property was purchased and they settled in to their new house on Rankin Dr. Draga immediately made this house their home. Both boys enjoyed having friends over and those friends were welcomed and taken care of by Draga. Throughout Roger and Rocky’s childhood Draga loved watching them play sports. She never missed a game or an opportunity to brag on them. She loved being a part of everything they did and they loved her being there just as much.

Draga also enjoyed gardening and she was great at it. If you ever drove by her house rain or shine you would definitely see her outside tending to her beautiful flowers. She took great pride in all the gardens she created throughout her yard.

On December 9, 1993 Roger David and his high school sweetheart Michelle welcomed their first child, Brady Michael into their world. Roger and Michelle married in 1994 and welcomed two more children to the family, Cameron David and finally the girl Draga had waited so long for Olivia Tana. This is where Draga shined. Her grandchildren were her world. She absolutely adored them. She was their biggest fan in everything they did. Draga made it no secret that she would move heaven and earth for her grandchildren. Just as she did with her own two boys, she showed up to watch Brady, Cam and Liv in everything they participated in. Whether it would be sports or receiving awards at school, she was there.
Family was everything to Draga. She enjoyed taking care of all of them. She loved hosting holidays. She always made an incredible feast. Always way too much, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Along with being a wonderful wife, mother and grandma, Draga worked full time for 34 years at Johnson Controls. She retired in 2014.

To know Draga is to love her. She was intelligent, witty, loving and super funny. You always knew where Draga stood. That is something everyone loved about her. She loved so deeply and that is what the family will miss the most.

On March 12, 2020, Draga passed away peacefully with her whole world surrounding her. She is and will forever be deeply missed.
