Marianne married Terry McNerney on October 6, 1980 in Jellico, Tennessee. She was a dedicated employee of Turfway Park and River Downs and later became a lead at the Adidas Manufacturing Company. She ended her working career as a cook for the Northern Kentucky Youth Detention Center. Marianne’s heart and generosity knew no bounds. A phenomenal cook, her kitchen was never “closed” and her love for her family ran deep. She did a great job making sure that all around her were taken care of before taking care of herself. She loved to prepare holiday meals and had a special way of preparing the turkey, which Amber is guaranteed to ruin every single year. Marianne will be remembered for her feisty yet great sense of humor, energetic personality and lack of a filter.
Marianne is survived by her loving husband, Terry McNerney, their 3 children, Ryan McNerney, Justin McNerney and Amber McNerney. Their grandchildren, Robert (25), Jeremy (20), Kirsten (20) Rion (18), Hunter (17), Amber (9) and Noah (3) who are Ryan’s children, Maddy (19), Neveah (18), Bryson (13) who are Justin’s children, and Curtis (19) and Cooper (11), who are Amber’s children. Marianne also leaves behind her sister, Margie See of Dallas, Texas and her favorite grand-dog, Noah Drake. She will be missed by countless extended family members who loved their Mar Mar.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Maynard and Gladys Russell, her brothers Lester, Roy, Thomas, Joseph, and Junior. What a reunion dinner that must be.
The family will hold a visitation for friends and family on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 3:00pm-4:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018, with Funeral Services to follow at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Marianne’s name to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
