BURKE, Geraldine "Gerri" age 71, of Green Township, Ohio passed away due to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis on Thursday, April 6, 2017. She was born in Reed, Kentucky on June 20, 1945 to Norman and Ruth Ward (nee Bruce). On July 17, 1965 she married Lawrence Burke. Gerri enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, crocheting, and genealogy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph Robert Ward; and her sister, Jean Lanham. Gerri is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Lawrence Burke; her sons, Michael Burke and David Burke and his wife Amy; her daughters, Susan Hollenbach and her husband Geoff and Nancy Baker and her husband Jim; her six grandsons, Sebastian, Christian and William Steege; Nicholas and Matthew Burke; and James Baker; her two sisters, Lynda Sinnett and Dixie Ward; her brother, Norman Ward; and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Side Chapel 3300 Parkcrest Ln., Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 2832 Rosebud Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 701 E. Ross Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45217 at a later date.
