He was born in Carlisle, Kentucky on October 4, 1936 to John and Edna M. Bishop (nee McClain).
He was a Veteran of the United States Marines. Their motto, “Semper Fidelis” (Always Faithful), was practiced consistently throughout his 83 years, as he was always faithful to his Country, God, his wife, children and grandchildren.
His memory will always be loved and respected by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Cecil loved his family, God and his church. He loved his dog, Teddy, the UK Wildcats, enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing and funny cars.
Cecil served God by volunteering to drive the Nazarene Church bus, and in his later years, he worked at Higher Ground Campground and the Conference Center.
He was preceded in death by wife, Lida S. Bishop; parents; and five siblings, Albert Bishop, Faye Stroub, Alice Martindale, Catherine Bishop, and Francis Hannah.
Cecil is survived by his three beloved children, Dani S. (Patricia Huber) Bishop, Duranda S. Daniel, and Rick Bishop; three grandchildren, Brent (Summer) Noie, Rebecca Daniel, and Regina Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Trent Noie, Khalin Noie, and Kael Noie; one brother, Kenneth Bishop; niece, Christina Taylor; brother-in-law, Mike (Beverly) Bain; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Cecil, contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati Inc., c/o Bethesda Foundation, Inc., Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
Memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2020 with a gathering from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
