Otis William Andrews, Sr., was born April 18, 1931 to Bennie Andrews, Sr., and Bessie Barker Andrews.

He retired from General Electric as an Aircraft Mechanical Engineer.

Otis was a devoted husband and father. Family was everything to him. He served as a father figure to his grandchildren, some as being the only father they knew. He was an uncle, a brother, and a mentor to many. His sense of humor was known to all. Otis was also an avid volunteer within his church and community.

On July 22, 1952, he was united in marriage to Rose Gray. From a 68 year marriage came three children: Valerie Jean Gilbert, the late Otis "Kip" William Andrews II, and Karen "Kathy" Harris.

Otis is survived by his loving wife, Rose Andrews; two daughters, Valerie and Karen; adopted children, Steve Combs and Carolyn Smith; four grandchildren, Christopher "Christophee" Bell, Brandy Harris, Brian Harris, and Siobhan Andrews; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Otis Cordero Andrews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Otis on the Alzheimer's Association website, "ALZ.org".

Funeral services will be held for Otis on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 12:00PM, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, located at 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to services at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
