Stephen A. "Steve" Gosby
1950 - 2019

GOSBY, Stephen A. (Steve) was born September 21, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Booker T. and Eloise Gosby. He was the third of 6 children. He passed from this life, suddenly on Friday, April 12.

Steve was a graduate of Mt. Healthy High School where he performed in many musicals, wowing the audience with his powerful baritone voice. He was also bestowed the honor of “Mr. Mt. Healthy.” After graduation, he attended Fisk University.

He ultimately moved to Little Rock Arkansas where he worked at the Carver Family YMCA as Activity Coordinator.

In 2001, after retiring from the YMCA, Steve returned to Cincinnati and began working at JC Penney in the Men’s department. The young men took to his advice when dressing for prom and their mothers appreciated it.

He loved music, older music our parents enjoyed, the blues and jazz.

Steve enjoyed family time. Christmas was his favorite holiday, he spoiled his nieces and nephews with the best and the noisiest toys at Christmas and they loved it. He was our video man. He would gather pictures from family celebrations and make videos to music for each family household. The tributes he made for those we have lost are priceless.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Michael T. Gosby. He is survived by his siblings, Richard (LaVerne), Carol, Jacqueline & Elaine; 11 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

His is a life gone too soon, we will miss him dearly. The family will have a private memorial ceremony.
