In Memory Of
Janie Johnson
1947 - 2019

Janie Ann Johnson, age 71, was born on May 31, 1947 in Elberton, Georgia to the late Velmon and Janie Mae Oliver Adams. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

Janie graduated from Taft High School and attended Central State University. She was a dedicated employee of Christ Hospital and retired after 37 years of service. Janie enjoyed reading, dancing, going to the casino, and playing cards with family and friends. When her health began to deteriorate and the hobbies she so loved became challenging to do, Janie dedicated her time to family. Janie always offered a listening ear, she was full of conversation, fun and laughter - and could always be counted on when needed the most. Although she might talk about you later - her generosity was unwavering. Janie loved her family greatly and her eyes would light up whenever she saw them.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Curtis (Katherine) Adams, Ernestine (Shortline) Adams, Waydene (Virgil) Jackson, Velmon (Leatrice) Adams Jr., Clarence (Barbara) Adams, and Eugene (Darius) Adams.

Janie leaves to cherish in her memory, her beloved sons, Terence O. (Tracy) Johnson, Thomas O. Johnson and Henry Johnson; daughter, Jeanette (Billy) Williams; sister, Carolyn (Sim) Davis; grandchildren, De'Jon Johnson, Shavon Johnson, and Constance B. Williams; previous husband, Henry Johnson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Side, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211 followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm.
