In Memory Of
Doris Faye Turner
1945 - 2018

Doris Faye Turner was born on May 22, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents Arthur and Catherine Phelps (both deceased). After a lengthy illness, she departed this life to enter into her eternal rest on Thursday morning, December 27, 2018.

Doris was the youngest daughter of six children. Her siblings include her only sister, Audrey Wilson (deceased), and brothers, Leonard Phelps (deceased), Arthur Phelps, Jr., Larry Phelps, and Jeff Phelps (mother Helen Phelps).

Doris was raised by her special paternal grandmother, Miniver Phelps, and super special and loving aunt, Hazel Phelps Griffin. She attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Robert A. Taft High School. She married the late John Turner and they enjoyed many years of life together before his passing. She served as a nurse assistant for many years before becoming disabled. She accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of (Christ our Redeemer A.M.E. Church) now Grace A.M.E. Church.

Doris’ legacy includes a love of life and family. She acquired many friends and loved to sing, dance, and socialize with family and friends. She enjoyed the new technology and the ability to keep up with family and friends on Facebook.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory: her very special and loving niece and nephew, Hazel and David Willie; a special and loving cousin, Vincent Hughes; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Jackie Silus, her remarkable caregiver, who was with Doris often and provided exceptional care, without question.

Doris, we will miss seeing, touching, and talking with you, but in our hearts you will always be there. You can now rest, on this, your 34th Wedding Anniversary, with your love.
