Edna E. Sparks went home to be with her Lord whom she loved dearly, Sunday morning, December 2, 2018. She was 95 years, 2 days old.

Edna was born to Earl and Jessie Combs on November 30, 1923 in Paintsville, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles M. Sparks; her second husband Ben Sparks; her daughter, Norma Jones and husband, Jim; her son, Steve Sparks’ also her parents, Earl and Jessie Combs; two brothers, Ralph Combs and William (Bud) Combs.

Left to mourn her passing is daughter Karen Conway (Dave) of Venice, FL; Her son Jeff Sparks (Linda) of Dayton, OH; and son Mark Sparks of Georgetown, OH, on daughter-in-law Lynne Sparks, of Indianapolis, IN. Also for sisters, Mary Dickens, Lillian Shaw and Phyllis Turner, all of Georgetown, OH. Kathleen Teeters of Punta Gorda, FL., several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Many years ago Edna was a cook for the local Brown County Jail. Several years later she owned and operated Nursing Homes in Northern Ky; as well as an antique store. One of the things she enjoyed while living in Florida was buying and selling at Flea Markets. She was always a hard worker from early childhood until her health no longer would allow it. Edna was a very giving and generous person. Most of all she was a woman of great faith. Even when she could no longer attend church she kept up with her Bible reading and prayer. You could always call her to pray for you in a time of need.

She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Ky. 41018 on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 12 noon. Visitation for family and friends will be after 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Ky.
