In Memory Of
Jerry F. Griffin, Sr.
1954 - 2018
Jerry Frank Griffin, Sr. moved to Cincinnati at the age of 17. He worked at the Hammon Awning Company, the “Chili Company”, and Goodwill. Later, after being trained by his brother as a mechanic, Jerry was self-employed. He could fix anything with wheels or an engine. He continued to work until his health failed.
Jerry was a joker; he liked to play jokes on the children as well as adults, especially with his wolf mask. Jerry loved listening to the blues, watching Cowboy and Indian movies, and sipping his suds.
Jerry was a father, brother, uncle, nephew, and a best friend; but most of all he was loved by everyone. In the last days of his life, Jerry accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior. He was assured a place in the Kingdom.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Jerry is survived by his beloved children, Jerry F. (Jessica Chambers) Griffin, Jr., Felicia Hutchinson, Jerren F. Griffin, Dante (Latrice) Behanan, Tamara Huckleberry; step-daughter, Jasmine Riston; 16 grandchildren; siblings, Willie W. (Bertha) Griffin, Freddie L. Stacy, Diane O. Griffin; significant other, Kimberly R. Dunn; best friend, Billy Haggard; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, December 1, 2018 with a gathering from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
