On Monday, September 3, 2018 James "Jim" Farris, loving husband and amazing father and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 68. Jim was born on April 26, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Preston and Julia Farris (nee Magruder).
While a computer programmer by trade, his greatest professional joy came from sharing his love of literacy by driving Bob the Bookmobile. No professional accomplishment could compare to the absolute joy and pride he found in his grandchildren. He loved every minute of their games, performances, and would share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bruce Farris; his son, Steven Munch; and his granddaughter, Olivia Snelbaker. Jim is survived by his wife, Jennifer Farris; his daughter, Tiffany (Justin) Griffin; his son, Scott Munch; his sister, Mary (Richard) Davis; his ten grandchildren, Alyca, Jayden, Julia, Amaya, Ryann, Dani, Jaxon, Jameson, Callie Jo, and Nick. He will truly be missed by his best friend, Dave Collopy. Jim also leaves behind his niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm at BW3, 200 Biggs Blvd, Harrison, Ohio 45030. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to LBDA.org (Lewy Body Dementia Association).
