He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick E. Meinking; mother, Annetta Meinking; brother, Louie; brother-in-law, Jack Findley; son, Michael Jeff Meinking; grandchild, Kevin Gutzwiller. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sandra J. Meinking (nee Brown); son, James (Alicia) Meinking; daughters, Tamarie (Dale) Manley, Melinda (Ray) Gutzwiller, Jennifer Meinking, and Christina (Floyd) King; sister-in-law, Betty Meinking; sisters, Barbara Findley, Pam Volz; brother, Michael (Cindy) Meinking; grandchildren, Shaun, Anthony (Sarah), Amber, Chad, Jimmy, Amanda, Cody, Stacy, and Christopher; many great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Fred served in the Army and met his wife, Sandra while stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He retired from Pepsi Cola after dedicating over 30 years. He was a member of the Mt. Healthy Eagles, played cards with his family, and passionate about all sports, especially softball. He was proud to be inducted into the Hudepohl Hall of Fame in 2003. When Fred retired, he enjoyed taking the grandchildren to the park and the zoo. He also enjoyed meeting his brother, Louie and wife, Betty for lunch once a week.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in honor of Fred, to Hospice of Vitas. Funeral Ceremony will be 12:00 pm Monday, August 20, 2018 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231.
