Alberta Carter, age 82, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. She was born in Berlin, Alabama on January 13, 1936 to Isadore and Ethel Bates (nee Manning).

Alberta Carter graduated from Hughes High School in 1954. Alberta and Norman E. Carter, Sr. were united in matrimony on August 8, 1956. And to this union six (6) children were born. Deborah, Wendy, Norman, Jr., Danita, Rodney, and Stephanie.

Alberta worked as a nurse's aide and other outside employment. She, in her spare time, enjoyed painting, knitting, sewing, cooking and loved taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Isadore Bates, Sr., mother, Ethel Bates and husband Norman E. Carter, Sr. Alberta is survived by her children, Deborah Carter-Manning (Gregory), Wendy Harris, Norman E. Carter, Jr. (Sandi), Danita L. Carter, Rodney M. Carter, Sr. (Divina), Stephanie Carter (Derrick); brother, Isadore Bates, Jr. (Geneva); 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be at 12:00 pm Friday, March 16, 2018 with a visitation from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at John 3:3 New Birth Ministries, 4586 Paddock Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
