In Memory Of
Marjorie E. Morgan
1922 - 2017
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, William R. Morgan, Sr., her parents and her sister, Virginia Nichols. Marjorie is survived by her children, Carol Marjean (John) Dingledy, William Richard (Diane) Morgan, Jr.; grandchildren, Matthew Dingledy, Kathleen (Jon) Gratz; great-grandchildren, Skylar Dingledy, Will Dingledy, Adalynn Dingledy, Ian Dingledy, Morgan Gratz, Michael Gratz; and many good neighbors and friends.
Marjorie was active in many organizations throughout her life, including a women’s group at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church, the Wyoming Women’s Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA and other school activities such as Corral and the May Fete. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Orion Chapter 12 and a proud alumna of Ohio University, where she received a BA in Music—and met her future husband.
Music was a large part of Marjorie’s life. She both sang and accompanied other soloists at college, taught high school music before getting married, and played the organ at the Christian Science Church for many years. She and husband Bill took dance lessons for quite a while, and they could cha-cha-cha everyone else off the floor.
Marjorie showed her artistic side in other ways as well. She crocheted everything from mittens to afghans, always sewed the drapes for the house herself, built and furnished two miniature doll houses, did paint by number art, and painted items Bill built such as a rocking horse and bean bag toss for the grandchildren. She enjoyed doing expert crossword puzzles, collected spoons from all over the world and always had the fireplace hearth decorated appropriately for each season and holiday.
Funeral Ceremony will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 12, 2017 with a visitation from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial will take place on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge, Ohio.
In loving memory of Marjorie, contributions may be made to Ohio University, School of Music, http://www.ohio.edu/development/makeagift.cfm.
