STEPHENS, Shirley J. age 82, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 11, 1932 to William F. and Alma Seilkop (nee Veith).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marlyn W. Stephens (26 yrs), and Louis A. Resi (8 yrs); step-son, Kenneth Resi; siblings, William Seilkop, Jr., Marion Schroeder, Mildred Harris, Bettie Eberhard and niece Roberta (David) Gerard.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Connie (Scott) Zimmerman, and Kim Stephens-Murphy; granddaughters, Rachel L. Zimmerman, and McKenzie C. Murphy; nieces and nephews, Grant Seilkop, Fred (Jan) Schilling, William (Sue) Schilling, Richard (Susan) Schilling, Ronald (Sandy) Schilling, Carol (Mike) West, Ann Eberhard, William Eberhard, John (Laura) Eberhard, Daryle (LuAnn) Jansen, Donald (Helen) Jansen, Jannis Jansen-Brown, and Julie (Dallas) Bailey; step-children, Nancy Resi, and David Resi; step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wilson; step-nephew, Joe (Dayna) Resi and their daughter Kate; and a host of other family members and friends.

Shirley was the sweetest, most beautiful woman and dedicated mother. She graduated from Withrow HS with honors in 1950. Before marrying Marlyn on November 21, 1952, she worked as a secretary at Purdue University. They briefly lived in Price Hill and then moved to Finneytown in 1953. In 1964, she began a 30 year career as Legal Secretary at GE Evendale Patent Dept. Steno dictation was her forte. She was widowed in 1977 and married Louis in 1987. Together they traveled to Italy, France, England and Russia. Shirley became widowed again in 1995. Shirley was active in Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Boosters of Finneytown, Sycamore Senior Center and St. Paul United Church of Christ. She enjoyed volunteering her secretarial skills by working with friends at the Sycamore newsletter. Weekly, she dedicated her time ministering to affirmed and shut-ins at five local nursing homes.
