MONTAG, Joseph Edward age 64 of Cincinnati passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was born in Waterloo, New York on October 14, 1948 the son of Angelo Geo and Betty Montaglione. He was a computer consultant for over 40 years. He was a member of Sunrise A.C. and the Sons of the American Legion Post 513. Joe was an avid golfer, and supported his community through fundraising charitable events. On August 30, 1985 he married Nancy Finley.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Montag of Cincinnati; his mother, Betty Montaglione of Waterloo, New York; three daughters, Sandy Allen of Warsaw, Kentucky, Michele and her husband Brian Caya of Madison, Ohio, and Holly Jackson of Cincinnati; five brothers, Fred Montag of Rochester, New York, Michael Montag and his wife Kathy of Pittsford, New York, Jeff Montaglione and his wife Sheridan of Seneca Falls, New York, Bobby Buffone and his wife Diane of Waterloo, New York, and Mickey Buffone and his wife Patty of Waterloo, New York; three sisters, Mary and Gavin Donahue of Waterloo, New York, Twila Lucero of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Dana Eckonen of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Michelle, United States Army Warrant Officer One, Mike Allen and his wife Alexandria, Courtney, Rio, Riley, and Corey Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Jeremy Joseph, Mikayla, Masen, and Leo; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Geo Montaglione; mother, Alice (Southworth) Sanders; son, Michael Charles Allen.

Joe’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his brother Michael Montag for being his stem cell donor and giving him more time with us.
