In Memory Of
Lavinia ""Beannie"" Scott Brown
1940 - 2012

On August 6, 1940, Lavinia Scott Brown (known as Beannie to those who love her) was born to Ethel Thomas in Cincinnati, Ohio where she was raised with her brother Walter Thomason. She attended Cincinnati Public Schools. Later, she was employed by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center until she retired. She departed this life on December 27, 2012.

In 1970, Beannie met Will Brown. Will and Beannie did almost everything together. They traveled, had Super Bowl parties, and had lots of fun. After over 30 years of dating, they fell in love and decided to marry on one of their several trips to Las Vegas, Nevada. They were joined in holy matrimony on August 6, 1997 at the Wedding Chapel at the Monte Carlo, Las Vegas. They shared everything.

Beannie was a faithful member of Bond Hill Presbyterian Church under the leadership of Pastor Lynne Wells. Whatever her hands found to do, she joyfully did it and to the best of her ability. Beannie served as an ordained church elder, chairperson of the Worship Committee, and contributed her many gifts and talents to numerous church committees and events. She never hesitated to do whatever necessary to get the job done. Although she had no biological children, Beannie mentored, loved, and cared for many children throughout her life. It was not unusual to see her with various children teaching life lessons, showing support, or just letting them know that they were loved. Three years ago, Beannie adopted Scuder, her four legged baby. They loved each other tremendously and he was her loyal companion until the end, Beannie also spread her love to her neighbors by calling, visiting, and making sure their needs were met. She never met a stranger because of her friendly demeanor. "She was loved by all".

Lavinia was preceded in death by her husband, Will Brown; father, Walter J, Thomason; mother, Ethel Louise Ayers; and step-father, Raymond Ayers. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted brother, Walter Thomason and his wife Pearl of Cincinnati; sister-in-law, Mary Brown Hariston; step-son, Gregory Lewis Brown and his wife Jackie of Simpsonville, South Carolina; step-daughters, Pamela Willene Brown-Johnson of Athens, Georgia, and Shonda Drew of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, DaNadia Nicole Johnson of Athens, Georgia, and Aalayah Jhane’ Brown of Simpsonville, South Carolina; nephews, Gerald Thomason, Lavayree Hariston, James Brown, and Tyrone Thomas and his wife Tracey of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; nieces, Carla Thomason, Marva Thomason, and Stephanie Brown; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at the Bond Hill Presbyterian Church, 4909 Paddock Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237, on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lynne Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
