Burt, Emelina Lopez age 92, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. She was born in Bogota, Colombia on December 24, 1925 to Jesus and Mathilde Lopez (nee Gonzalez).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest "Fred" Burt; and her grandson, Freddie McLean. Emelina is survived by her children, Sonia Pittman Garufi, Yvonne (Joe) Matthews, Amanda (Larry) Cooper, Trevian Burt, Marcella "Honeybee" (Eugene) Britt; her grandchildren, Richard, Jason, Brian, Roy, Derrick, "Lil" Nina, Larry, Eric, Christopher, Tyler, Dion, and Brandon; her twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Emelina was the family matriarch who instilled love in everything she did. She devoted herself to God and her children, until her last breath. She retired from Kenner Toys after 25 years of service. Upon her retirement she volunteered her services to the community. Emelina always expressed the importance of doing your best.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Old Cemetery.
