ZIMMERMAN, Eileen M. age 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was born in Adrian, Michigan on June 7, 1926, the only child of Carl and Marie Burgener (nee Cannon).

Eileen had a career as an elementary school teacher. She taught in the Mt. Healthy school district, teaching 4th grade at Frost and Greener until 1972. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in a Librarian program and graduated around 1975. She worked as school Librarian in Mt. Healthy until 1984.

Eileen's first dedication was to raising her family. Her second interest was her participation in the Women of Epworth Methodist Church. She spent over 45 years working on charity circles, fundraising at bazaars, annual candy-making, and church festivals.

Eileen’s favorite hobby was reading books. When she developed cataracts and eventually partial blindness around 2011, she had to switch to reading books on tape.

Eileen lived a full life and enjoyed her time in the community at Maple Knoll Village.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Zimmerman; son, Kim Zimmerman. She is survived by her beloved sons, Scott (Connie) Zimmerman, Keith Zimmerman; grandchildren, Rachel Zimmerman, Jasmine Zimmerman, Sean Zimmerman; and a host of other family members and friends.

In loving memory of Eileen, contributions may be made to Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church, 7612 Perry Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Memorial Service will be 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 16, 2017 with a Gathering from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
